What is Moving Heroes

MOVING HEROES is a national initiative that connects Canada’s National Heroes (military members, first responders, peace officers, and health-care professionals) with trusted, vetted REALTORS® who understand the unique challenges of relocation.

Founded and established by veterans, the program donates a portion of business proceeds to charities supporting youth, the homeless, and those overcoming life challenges—making every move a mission that gives back.

To be Canada’s #1 platform where national Heroes connect with rigorously vetted REALTORS® and relocation experts—making every move smoother—while fueling charitable projects that lift youth, the homeless, and individuals rebuilding their lives.
To empower veterans to serve in new ways by becoming licensed REALTORS® as they transition into or grow into a second career in real estate, and to foster veteran entrepreneurship through the Mission Entrepreneur Program, in partnership with the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute and Veteran Affairs Canada.

MISSION

MOVING HEROES connects relocating heroes and their families with trusted REALTORS® and specialized service partners from coast to coast, collaborating with community builders and partner charities supporting vulnerable Canadians.

Through every real estate transaction, Moving Heroes creates a meaningful impact in the community. A portion of the proceeds is redirected to local initiatives that support youth, individuals experiencing homelessness, and those rebuilding their lives.

MOVING HEROES provides Canada-wide vetted REALTORS® and relocation professionals and financially assists participating national heroes members, veterans and their families via a dedicated program developed with collaborating charities.

Our team also assists participating members of the Defence community, military, first responders, health services and veteran families via collaborating charities.

We support military, DND personnel, first responders, veterans and spouses in serving differently, becoming a licensed REALTOR®, as they transition to a 2nd career in real estate.

Moving Heroes was founded in 2022 with four main objectives in mind:

Make relocations easier for Canada’s military, first responders, peace officers, health-care professionals and other serving national Heroes that need to relocate due to service requirements.

Collaborate with charities and community builders lifting youth, the homeless, and individuals rebuilding their lives, so they can more easily overcome challenges.

Support veterans and retired uniform personnel who want to continue serving differently, with purpose, as real estate professionals.

Encourage to give back by doing the right thing—serving a greater cause with gratitude and integrity.

What is Moving Heroes and how is it different from a regular real estate connexion service?
MOVING HEROES is a national initiative that connects military members, RCMP, police services, first responders like fire departments and paramedics, peace officers, correctional service, border officers and health-care professionals with vetted REALTORS® who understand the challenges of service-related relocations. Unlike general real estate platforms, we prioritize lived experience, tailored support, and giving back—every transaction helps fund programs for heroes and communities in need.
Our services are designed for current and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, police services, first responders like fire departments and paramedics, peace officers, correctional service, border officers and health-care professionals. Families and friends of these individuals are also welcome. If you serve or have served, you qualify.
All affiliated REALTORS® are vetted for integrity, service-mindedness, and professional experience. Many are veterans or have personal experience with frequent relocations. We ensure they understand the IRP process, military posting timelines, and the stressors families face during transitions.
No, there is no additional cost to you. MOVING HEROES is a value-added connection service. Our affiliated REALTORS® work within standard commission structures, and they voluntarily accept to donate a portion of their earnings via charitable partners—helping those in need, including you and your community.
From selling your home at origin to buying at destination, you’ll be matched with trusted professionals who guide you through inspections, financing, IRP documentation, and timelines. Our agents also collaborate with local partners to ease your transition and offer emotional, logistical, and financial support where needed.
Yes. Heroes who relocate using our affiliated REALTORS® may qualify for direct support from our partner charities based on individual or family needs. This could include emergency aid, youth programming, or wellness support—because we believe in giving back to those who serve.
Absolutely. We offer mentorship and training support to help you become a licensed REALTOR® and join our national network. You’ll be serving again—this time by helping others move with dignity and confidence. You can also explore entrepreneurship through our Mission Entrepreneur Program with Ottawa University Professional Development Institute and Veterans Affairs Canada.
